A small inspiration blog to occupy my time and stimulate my creative side. A secret place to celebrate souls in bloom, share inspiration, express quiet frustrations, and ponder dreamy thoughts-- all while avoiding my homework.

"I'm nobody's baby
I'm everybody's girl
I'm the queen of nothing
I'm the king of the world"

pollock Pictures, Images and Photos I am inspired by all artistic endeavors, big and small. I believe that if a creation is the product of a pure heart, it holds something sacred and unique that is to be celebrated. Innovation, passion, and the desire to make the world more beautiful through art... that is what I strive to do!

"Close the door. Write with no one looking over your shoulder. Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer."
Barbara Kingsolver

Nihilism?

Essentially, philosophy is “love of wisdom”, and that is something I possess. I love learning and reading about different angles to look at life, different ways of living. One approach I never was truly able to embrace was Nihilism: the idea that life is nothing, devoid of purpose. Because of this, our existence is pointless. I was almost offended by that idea. Now, I think I understand it better. The way I’m looking at it: Life may not have a single, direct purpose at all. It is up to the individual to endow their life with meaning. It is up to the individual to grasp their life and courageously make their dreams come true. If a person sits around waiting for “someone” or “something” to come along and give their life a purpose, they will be waiting forever. You’ve got to find meaning for yourself. You’ve got to have the drive of discovery and be motivated to uncover inspiration.

I see so many people falling victim to pessimism, to the point where I was starting to do so myself. But now I see that if you believe life to be full of cynicism and negative influences, it will be. It’s the idea of a self-fulfilling prophecy. For me, I am choosing to write a beautiful story, because I believe that is what I am here to do. When negative energy surrounds me, I observe and accept it. I don’t really comment on it, and I recognize that it’s not my place to criticizes the view of someone else. I can’t help but feel bad, though. I feel bad because the person creating the negative energy never took the time to realize that they are creating their reality, and sewing the seeds of their own destiny. They have the power to change things.

That is a powerful realization to make, and I am profoundly glad that I was open-minded enough to see this. However, with this realization comes a scary degree of responsibility: I am in charge of everything that happens to me. I have the awesome ability to steer my life in whichever direction I wish. But if I get lazy and let other people decide for me, I will fall farther and farther away from my true dreams… the REAL dreams that I keep in my soul, the ones that are born in quiet moments of solitude and inspiration.

There is no way of knowing the ways of this strange world. We’ve got to embrace the mystery and acknowledge the reality that we are so small on the universal scale. That being said, find your passion. Live in a way that brings you closer to that passion. Don’t give up. Be kind, and open your heart to the great possibilities that are waiting for you.
